What are transfeminist technologies? Is there an internet of animals? Which digital tools does the museum of the future need? In the new event from nextmuseum.io, innovative technologies can be experienced – tech meets culture! Host Prasanna Oommen will guide the digital audience through the evening, impulse lectures by experts from various fields convey new technologies vividly and amusingly. Digital prototypes, technical experiments and tools will be presented and the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas in a Q&A session. The Kunstfans act as tech-testers in the live stream and make the technologies tangible for the digital audience. A cooperation of nextmuseum.io with the Kunstfans and the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.

Multisensorial journeys – Speakers

Mattia Casalegno is an Italian interdisciplinary artist, live-media performer and installation artist working in a broad range of media. His multidisciplinary work is influenced by both post-conceptualism and digital art, and has been defined relational, immersive, and participatory. His practice explores the effects new media have on our societies, investigating the relationships between technology, the objects we create, our subjectivities, and the modes in which these relations unfold into each other. In this Tech-Time Casalegno will speak about his work “Aerobanquets RMX“, an immersive gastronomy experience. Loosely based on the Futurist Cookbook, the (in)famous Italian book of surreal recipes and fantastical dinners published in 1932, the project is a multi-sensorial journey experienced in Mixed Reality.

Robert Müller-Grünow develops with Scentcommunication scent concepts, scent marketing, high-tech scent technology, scent storage media and scents and systems for brands and special applications since 2003. Scents and aromas help us to differentiate and evaluate our environment – products, surroundings, people. The sense of smell transmits messages to the brain faster than seeing, hearing or feeling. Also artists use the technical possibilities of precisely controllable scent experiences to generate the effect of certain virtual images or to strengthen the effect of other existing media. Müller-Grünow will give an insight into the work of Scentcommunication and introduce us to the world of scents.

Vesela Stanoeva is currently doing her doctorate at the University of Applied Sciences Dortmund and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal on the topic “Hybrid Scenography. Intervention, Immersion, Illusion”. In addition, she teaches as a guest lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund in the Photographic Studies program. The focus of her artistic work is the encounter with identity problems and their manifestations. The resulting participatory, sensual and immersive works of art manifest themselves in hybrid experiences that take up the uncertain future of the post-anthroposcene and transform it both virtually and physically into dream-like worlds and surreal nightmares. In Tech-Time Stanoeva will talk about current projects like the exhibition Welcome to Heaven, that is co-curated by her.
