How would an artificial intelligence decide as a curator? Will we no longer need curators in the future because AI will take care of everything? Does this make the selection process and thus the exhibition more democratic? Through the experimental use of AI as a co-curator, we would like to pursue these and other questions together.

The MuDA in Zurich is already working with an algorithm that selects artists for the exhibitions. On August 11th nextmuseum.io will host a talk with Alexa Jeanne Kusber, curator at MuDA and Yasemin Keskintepe on the topic of AI and museums. See event

You only know artificial intelligence and algorithms from end of the world movies, where the hero of the story defeats the machines with the power of love? Here are a few book tips to get you started:

  • Stuart Russell, Human Compatible: Artificial Intelligence and the Problem of Control. 2019
  • Yuval Noah Harari, 21 Lessons for the 21st Century. 2018
  • Pedro Domingos, The Master Algorithm: How the Quest for the Ultimate Learning Machine Will Remake Our World. 2018
  • Ray Kurzweil,  How to Create a Mind. 2012
